First established in 1992 by local citizens, with the guidance of Professor Kenneth Banks of Wilfred Laurier University, we have grown into the site of the largest collection of Hespeler archival material available.
Now known as The Hespeler Heritage Centre and located in the Old Hespeler Town Hall we are dedicated to the promotion and preservation of history and community in Hespeler. We present a historical display, we publish books about the history of our community, we produce Hespeler Happenings, a quarterly community newsletter, we work in partnership with other historical and heritage individuals and organizations in Waterloo Region and we assist and support other local groups who focus on community development.
From the Reunion to the Hespeler Santa Claus Parade, Forbes Park Festival to the Hespeler Business Improvement Association, we are here to help, to promote and to inform the people of our community, in an old fashioned neighbourly way.
If you are now in town or haven’t been by the town hall lately, stop on in, browse through our historic display and stay for a chat. Have a coffee and hear the latest news, The Company of Neighbours Hespeler Heritage Centre is your local community resource.
We hope to see you soon!
